NEW MULTIHEAD WEIGHTER FOR FETA
Hellenic Dairies S.A. is a Greek family business that has specialized in the production and distribution of dairy products for 35 years. The product portfolio includes milk, yogurt, cheese and butter.
REQUIREMENTS
As a manufacturer of cheese and other dairy products, the machines at Hellenic Dairies must meet high hygienic requirements. In particular, due to the brine nature of the product and the regular cleaning required, a robust multihead weigher had to be found.
In addition, an option for a mixing application was requested , as the customer wanted the ability to add products such as olives as a topping at a later date.
SOLUTIONS
A multihead weigher type MP-20-1000-400-J-S5 is used for weighing the feta cubes. It belongs to the J-generation and was specially developed for use in areas with very high hygiene requirements. Thanks to the size of the combinationweigher and the special S5 variant, the company is well equipped for the future and could weigh several products simultaneously at any time if required.
The entire system is currently used to weigh nominal fill weights of 150 – 175 g of feta cubes – at a rate of 2 x 50 weighings per minute. This currently amounts to 40,000 cups per day.
