FACHPACK 2025 – Process stability determines success in the market

SPEED: YES, PLEASE – BUT FOR ALL PROCESSES!
The food industry is at a turning point: growth markets have never been so large – but only those who have stable control over their processes can turn opportunities into real success. MULTIPOND demonstrates how process stability is a prerequisite for sustainable value creation.

BUSINESS INSIGHTS – MARKET DYNAMICS AND OPPORTUNITIES
The outlook for the food and packaging industry is extremely positive: demand is growing dynamically worldwide, particularly in the confectionery and snacks sector. Higher quantities, rising export volumes and new markets offer considerable opportunities for manufacturers.
At the same time, there is double pressure: while demand for volume is increasing, the shortage of skilled workers, energy prices and stricter and ESG requirements are exacerbating the economic conditions. Manufacturers are facing the dual challenge of more output within on the same footprint along with the same time Costs, personnel and compliance to manage.
- Market for snack, confectionery and nut packaging: is growing worldwide at an average annual growth rate (CAGR) of ~6–7%,
Volume by 2033: > USD 72 billion [1]
Europe: around 20% market share, strongly supported by Germany, France and Italy - Export increases: Demand for confectionery products in APAC and North America is growing disproportionately – annual increase of 8–10% in premium segments
DACH: Germany remains the largest exporter of confectionery in the EU, with over 2.5 million tons annually. [2] - OEE (Overall efficiency of the system) losses: Downtime and waste cost up to 20–30% of productivity. [3]
Europe: Particularly in highly automated markets such as Germany and Switzerland, the measurable loss amounts to up to 25%. [3] - Automation: is growing at an average annual growth rate of 7–8% (CAGR), with food packaging alone expected to reach >£45 billion by 2028.[4]
Europe: The packaging automation market is growing at a CAGR of approximately 6%, driven by investments in sustainability and efficiency. [4]
The decisive lever: Those who want to benefit from this growth must set up their lines in such a way that they can reliably and efficiently handle increasing volumes – despite increasingly tight conditions. MULTIPOND will be exhibiting at FACHPACK 2025, showcasing two technological responses to this challenge.

DDSEQ
timing hopper unit

RotaFlow
Continuous flow instead of bottlenecks
DDSEQ – HIGH SPEED ON ONE LINE
High speed is the decisive factor in many markets.
With the DDSEQ timing hopper unit MULTIPOND presents a transfer solution that redefines the performance of twin-tube lines
- Up to 2×200 cycles/min – even with nominal filling weights of up to 200 g – that means up to 115 tonnes of product in 24 hours or 576,000 packs
- This compact and centred handover –gives the packaging machine a stable time window for secure sealing – even at maximum speed
- One line instead of two – 1 feed, 1 stage, 1 scale, 1 packaging machine
- Optional: dust enclosure for sealed, low-dust processes –Supports product quality, and compliance in food packaging
APPLICATION POTENTIAL(depending on the application) =
115 products at 24 hours:
This corresponds to around576,000 saleable packs
– every day.
For producers, this means: higher output per square metre, up to 20% lower investment costs – depending on the application, lower personnel costs and full line capacity. The retrofit potential for existing plants in particular offers strategic advantages: bottlenecks are eliminated, the line runs at the full speed of the packaging machine – and existing production capacities can be significantly expanded.
ROTAFLOW MODULE – CONTINUOUS FLOW INSTEAD OF BOTTLENECKS
Maximum speed is not always the main issue. In many applications, the feed determines the cycle time. This is particularly true for elongated or difficult products such as salad, herbs or sprouts, the products accumulate at the overlaps of the dosing channels. The result: stoppages, manual interventions and declining efficiency. The RotaFlow module featurtes these benefits:
- Rotating elements – Prevent congestion and deposits, maintain a constant product flow, and reduce manual intervention—less personnel and lower costs
- Constant flow –Enables continuous production and increases output and OEE (overall equipment effectiveness)
- Hygienic design (IP69)– Ensures safe production, simple and quick cleaning = shorter downtimes and higher availability
- Retrofit-compatible for existing systems – Greater flexibility in processing different products and greater variety on the line
For producers, this means
Continuous product flow, constant cycle time filling, and increased OEE (overall equipment effectiveness) – so you can get the maximum output, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness from your investment.
QUALITY AS SYSTEM PERFORMANCE
Whether high speed or complex product feeding – both scenarios illustrate that quality in the packaging process does not arise at a single point. Process stability is the result of an overall system:
- Weighing –fast & precise
- Promote – controlled product flow
- Distribute – smooth transitions
- Integrate – seamlessly integrated into existing lines
MULTIPOND stands for smooth processes at maximum speed. With 20 years of service availability and an international network of experts, we not only secure investments, but also lay the foundation for sustainable growth. Our longevity, in-depth engineering expertise, and sustainable manufacturing further underscore this claim.
CONCLUSION FOR DECISION-MAKERS
DDSEQ and RotaFlow solve different challenges—and offer manufacturers the same advantage: More output, higher efficiency, and sustainable value creation. This makes process stability the key to tomorrow’s competitiveness. Future security comes from process stability – and MULTIPOND is the partner that helps manufacturers achieve this goal together.
