MULTIPOND introduces a new dosing weigher (Type DW xx-6100/2500-H) and once again demonstrates its position as one of the market's leading innovators in the field of multihead weighers.
After a long period of development, the weigher is being presented for the first time at the Interpack 2011 trade fair in Düsseldorf. The new weighing system is ideally suited for weighing free-flowing products in powder or granular form.
The system is available as a 2-, 3-, 4- or 6-head weigher. In the dosing weigher, the target weights are achieved using a single weigh hopper and not from several hoppers combined with each other as is usual for combination weighers. This means that all 2 to 6 systems operate as "independent" weighing and dosing systems.
As a rule, product is fed to the individual, radially positioned weighing systems from a central overhead bin. The product flows, without the use of vibrators (gravimetrically), through the 2 to 6 channels of the prefeed hopper into the individual dosing hoppers. The continually accumulating product flows through the adjustable cross-section of the motor-driven dosing flaps into the weigh hopper. To simultaneously achieve maximum accuracy and maximum speed, the target weight is metered exactly by the dosing flaps through a combination of bulk feed and fine feed. The design of the special, double-locking flaps on the weigh hoppers ensures extremely tight closing, thereby preventing any product from dribbling out and reducing giveaway to an absolute minimum. The ready portions are then discharged into the timing hopper and from there are transferred to the final packaging station.
The system is engineered to perform at up to 30 weighings per weighing head, regardless of product and target weight. The portion volume is limited to max. 2,500g per weighing head.
The advantages are obvious: Thanks to its fully dust-repellent design, the machine is ideally suited for powdery and granular products. All product contact parts have been optimized for product-specific use and can be removed for cleaning and maintenance quickly and without tools. The weigher is controlled and operated using a convenient color touch screen monitor. Programming and performance evaluation are straightforward and accomplished without great effort. Automatic calibration by means of built-in calibrating weights guarantees maximum accuracy. Remote maintenance is possible at any time via a video connection and LAN.
